We are getting ready for our derby again this year! It will be Held at noon on May 19th 2012 in Kensington. We don't include water or time participants, but we are growing every year. Last year over 11,000 people attended - just to give you an idea. The course is about 3 miles this year- over city streets, through a park, down a long Belgian block street, and through a mud pit in the middle of an art festival. We love having this derby because it is something positive across the board. An overwhelmingly large percentage of neighborhood locals as well as other city residents think of this even in a very warm, positive light. Our derbys focus on art and design more than anything else. It is a community parade more than it is a race. For more into: http://www.kinetickensington.com/about

Again- It would be really cool to have participants from other derbies join in our event with their vehicles! We would like to get people in this neighborhood to start to think about water, and other possibilities. Consider this an invitation.

The Art Festival that occurs in conjunction with with derby is The Trenton Avenue Arts Fest: http://trentonaveartsfest.blogspot.com/

Don't miss out this year! Come say hi!

Much love,
The Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby
