It's still winter, but the Baltimore Kinetic Sculpture Race is on the way! The 2019 race is SATURDAY, MAY 4—in 15 weeks! The race doesn't happen by itself; The American Visionary Art Museum relies on many brave determined volunteers, people just like YOU. To learn more, come to one of these 2 events:
- Wednesday, April 17 from 6:30 to 8:30pm
- Sunday, April 28 from 1pm to 3pm

There are many ways to volunteer! Most are during the race, but others can be completed in the preceding days, or early Saturday before the race. We need eager volunteers for:
- Engaging the crowd and answering questions
- Marking the race course to tell racers where to turn
- Being Kinetic Medics (especially if you have medical expertise)
- Clearing flotsam from the Canton ramp
- Serving on the Marine Posse (if have a kayak and experience using it)
- Creating and managing the sand and mud pits
- Inspecting sculptures at safety checkpoints
- Proudly holding banners at the finish line
- Protecting and Serving as Kinetic Kops
See you in April at the volunteer meetings, and on May 4 for the race!
